What is Cascade Employers Association?

Cascade is a 63 year-old Member-governed association of over 500 diverse industry organizations. We provide employers of all sizes with the solutions needed to effectively manage and develop their workforce.

What types of memberships do you offer?

We offer organization memberships rather than individual memberships. In other words, a business joins and they determine the individuals within their organization authorized to take advantage of the many benefits of membership.

Do I have to become a Member to use your services?

For some services, yes. Only members have access to: AnswerSource, our helpline for frequently asked employment-related questions, sample policies, and other HR-related tools; our publications; and our sponsored employee benefit programs. Our pay and benefits surveys, training programs, and certain consulting services may be accessed by non-members; however, non-members pay significantly higher rates than our Members pay.

What industries do your Members represent?

As a diverse industry association, Cascade members represent just about every type of business sector found in the Region. Types of industries in membership include:  Manufacturing; Service; Non-Profit; Distributing; Wholesale/Retail; Agricultural; Banking/Finance; Food Processing; Construction; Government; and more.

What sizes are your member businesses?

Member organizations range in size from two employees to several thousand employees. The average employment size is about 125. Any organization with employees will find our services beneficial.

Where is Cascade located?

Cascade's main headquarters are located in Salem, just off Lancaster Drive at 4068 Hudson Avenue NE.

How do you serve employers in other cities?

With a central location of Salem, we efficiently serve employers in all locations throughout Oregon and Southwest Washington. Much of the support we provide Members is over the telephone, because that is what they prefer with their busy schedules; however, we often travel to Member locations when the situation necessitates or when our Members request a visit.

How do you serve employers with operations in other states?

For Cascade Members with operations in other parts of the country, they benefit from access to information and help from our affiliation with the EAA (Employer Associations of America). The EAA is a network of independent employers' associations in over 35 states. When you need information on regional issues such as employment regulations or pay data, call on Cascade.

How do I become a Member?

Just complete a membership application (a PDF file). Once we receive your completed application and membership fee, you can immediately begin accessing the many benefits of membership.

How much is the membership fee?

The annual membership fee is based on the number of employees (full-time equivalent) within your organization. Fees range from $450 to $1735 per year. Our membership application contains the annual fee table.

What does my organization receive for the annual membership fee?

Your paid membership gives you access to a wealth of HR business solutions, including: a helpline for employment-related questions, forms, policies, and tools; fresh and local pay data through SalaryTrends, Cascade's own online survey system; an assessment of your human resource practices to help you get and stay in compliance; periodic employer briefings and select Webinars on relevant employment topics; an online job bank on which you can post unlimited jobs; an online Members-only area where you can access a wealth of resources 24/7; publications to keep you current on those issues affecting you as an employer; a DVD library of nearly 100 DVD and VHS presentations on various leadership and safety topics; employee benefit options for qualifying employers; and reduced rates on training, consulting, and project services.

Why should I use Cascade services instead of those services of another association or consulting firm?

Because as an employers association, we are the most cost-effective solution to your human resource challenges. You gain access to a staff of experts and a wealth of resources at your fingertips when you need them. We report important information so you remain informed without having to do the research yourself. Besides, it's nearly impossible, on your own, to keep on top of all employment issues.
